KHAS’ Achievements on the Antalya Film Forum

The winners of the awards were announced from the Antalya Film Forum, a joint production market and project development platform of the 59th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival organized by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality with the contributions of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

On the Feature Length Fictional Pitching Platform, where nine projects had competed, the jury composed of Antonio Saura, Selin Vatansever Tezcan and Teresa Hoefert de Turégano gave two projects the Feature Length Fictional Pitching Platform Award in the total amount of TL 80 thousand. One of these two projects was “İskeletin Türküsü/The Ballad of the Skeleton” directed by Murat Uğurlu, a student from KHAS Film and Drama Master’s Program, and produced by Büke Akşehirli, winning a monetary award of TL 40 thousand.

The Filmarka Equipment Support Award was given to the project “8.Kat/8th Floor” directed by Tunç Şahin, a part-time lecturer and mentor at KHAS Radio, Television and Cinema Department, and produced by Aslı Filiz and Ersan Çongar.

5 projects competed on the Documentary Work-in-Progress Platform of the Antalya Film Forum. The jury composed of Aurélien Marsais, Charlotte Reekers and Zeynep Güzel gave one of the Documentary Work-in-Progress Awards in the amount of TL 40,000 to the project “Basit Bir Yer/A Simple Place”, directed by Etna Özbek, a student from KHAS Film and Drama Master’s Program, and produced by Burak Karamete. This project “Basit Bir Yer/A Simple Place” also won the Başka Sinema Distribution Award.

The project “Trapped Zone’da 61 Dakika/61 Minutes in Trapped Zone” directed by Canberk Emre İpek, a student from KHAS Cinema and Television Master’s Program, and produced by Merve Tohum and Alican Acar, won the Documentary Association of Europe (DAE) Encouragement Award. We were also proud that a documentary project “Kavur” directed by Fırat Özeler, a student from KHAS Radio, Television and Cinema Department, was in the select list of this category.

5 projects competed on the Series/Mini Series Pitching Platform. These projects were assessed by the jury composed of Julia Schulte, Leticia Godinho and Yamaç Okur. “İyi Aile Kızı/Half-Life”, created by Tilbe Cana İnan, a graduate from KHAS Cinema and Television Master’s Program, and Kubilay Kara, and produced by Yelin Mckay, won the Netflix Grow Creative Project Development Support Award, being entitled to participate in the Netflix Turkey Serial Project Development Workshop.

3 projects competed on the Sümer Tilmaç Antalya Film Support Fund Pitching Platform. The jury composed of Deniz Akçay, Uygar Şirin and Zeynep Koray gave the Sümer Tilmaç Antalya Film Support Fund Pitching Platform Award in the amount of TL 150 thousand, and the Fono Film Post Production Award to the film project “Kuduz/Rabies” produced by Arzu Şenses Öner, written and directed by Abdurrahman Öner, a graduate from KHAS Cinema and Television Master’s Program.
